Pretty and perfumed, the 2019 Chambolle-Musigny Village opens in the glass with notes of cherries, raspberries, rose petals and spices, framed by a deft touch of new oak. Medium to full-bodied, layered and velvety, with a lively core of fruit and refined tannins, it concludes with a long, floral finish. As I've written before, this bottling is largely derived from the lieu-dit Beaux Bruns, part of which is only entitled to the communal appellation—supplemented by some fruit from lieu-dit Derrière la Four.

Blossoming in the glass with a lovely bouquet of raspberries, cherries, dried flowers and blood orange, the 2018 Chambolle-Musigny Village is medium to full-bodied, lively and precise, with fine-boned structuring tannins and succulent acids. As usual, it's largely derived from the lieu-dit Beaux Bruns, part of which is only entitled to the communal appellation.

Boillot's 2017 Chambolle-Musigny Village is, as usual, largely derived from the lieu-dit Beaux Bruns, and it is a great success this year, wafting from the glass with aromas of cherries, raspberries, rose petal, dark chocolate and subtle spices. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, satiny and beautifully pure, its ripe tannins cloaked in succulent fruit. It's an expressive, charming Chambolle with plenty of depth at the core.

The 2016 Chambolle Musigny Village comes from the village part of Beaux Bruns. Despite a little reduction there is pretty red fruit lurking underneath. The palate is a little rustic on the entry with slightly rough tannin, but there is good body here and it is well balanced on the linear, grippy finish.

The 2015 Chambolle-Musigny Village felt a little disjointed on the nose at first, quite tertiary in style and requiring a touch more detail to come through—it may possibly do that by the time of bottling. The palate is quite grippy on the entry with assertive tannin, quite structured and needing a little more refinement and grace on the finish.
