The similarly-colored 1999 Pommard Refene Cuvee Selectionee has sur-maturite (over-ripe) aromas of talcum powder, baked cherries, and perfume. Medium to full-bodied and deep, this licorice, tar, blackberry, and black cherry-flavored wine coats the taster's palate with layer upon layer of sweet fruit. It is firm and foursquare, yet bursts with power. Anticipated maturity: 2004-2009.
