Firmer and chewier than the Marole at this early stage, the 2020 Givry 1er Cru Les Bois Chevaux reveals aromas of sweet berry fruit and baking spices. It's medium to full-bodied, rich and quite concentrated.

The 2018 Givry 1er Cru Les Bois Chevaux is the raciest of Joblot's reds this year, perhaps due to its windy mesoclimate and limestone-rich soils. Offering up notes of spicy red cherries and candied peel, it's medium to full-bodied, fine-boned and precise in the context of this gourmand vintage.

The 2017 Givry 1er Cru Les Bois Chevaux is very promising, offering up expressive aromas of ripe cherries and rose hip, followed by a medium-bodied, supple palate, its generous core of sweet fruit framed by fine-grained tannins and balanced by juicy acids. The domaine's 20-year-old vines in this east-facing premier cru routinely produce one of Joblot's most charming, accessible reds.
