The 2016 Aloxe-Corton Village, which was affected less by the frost than the Savigny-lès-Beaune, has a feisty and vivacious bouquet with black cherries and blueberry, a pinch of black pepper and brown spices. The palate is medium-bodied with a rounded entry, perhaps a little more harmonious than its Savigny counterpart this year with a caressing, dried blood-tinged finish that has just the right amount of sapidity. Recommended.
