Aromas of pear, lemon zest, freshly baked bread and toasted nuts preface the 2021 Chassagne-Montrachet Les Chênes, a medium to full-bodied, pure and fleshy wine built around racy acids and chalky structuring extract. Again, this is a very strong effort at the communal level that illustrates this domaine's upward trajectory.

The 2020 Chassagne-Montrachet Les Chênes has turned out very well. Exhibiting aromas of crisp Anjou pear, fresh peach, warm bread, vanilla pod and citrus zest, it's medium to full-bodied, bright and seamless, with a pretty core of fruit, lively acids and a long, chalky finish.

Aromas of pear, fresh bread, almonds and white flowers introduce the 2019 Chassagne-Montrachet Les Chênes, a medium-bodied, bright and lively wine that's ripe but incisive, exemplifying the style of the vintage.

The 2018 Chassagne-Montrachet Les Chênes was also showing very well, unwinding in the glass with notes of green apple, pear, orange oil and toasted nuts. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, lively and nicely concentrated, with an incipiently textural attack and a chalky finish.

The 2017 Chassagne-Montrachet Les Chênes returns to the lineup this year and represents a definite step up over the regular bottling, exhibiting pretty aromas of pears, fresh melon, spices and white peach. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, satiny and nicely concentrated, with chewy extract, succulent acids and a persistent finish. This offers excellent value.
