The 2003s seem to have lost a great deal of fruit, texture, and depth, and they are much more evolved than I thought last year. The 2003 Chateauneuf du Pape Tradition has a medium ruby color with pink and orange already at the edge. Soft, decently concentrated, but superficial with its notes of damp earth, dusty cherries, and dried herbs, it should be drunk over the next 2-3 years.
