From a tiny 5-acre parcel of vines in Vacqueyras Domaine de la Pigeade has fashioned an outstanding blend of Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvedre. Aged in small used oak barrels, the 2007 Vacqueyras exhibits a dark plum/purple color, lots of black currant, fig, and graphite notes, superb concentration, and moderate tannin. Deep, rich, and impressive, it will benefit from 1-2 years of bottle age, and should drink well for a decade. No known American importer.
