Ripe, generous and supple, this has a touch of earthiness and a moderately dry finish, like many wines of the appellation. A very good example, but not spectacular.

The 2019 Gevrey-Chambertin Village is also showing nicely, mingling aromas of peonies, rose petals, orange rind, cassis, cherries and forest floor. Medium to full-bodied, fleshy and charming, it has an enveloping core of succulent fruit underpinned by melting tannins. Long and penetrating, this charming wine is the finest young Gevrey I've tasted from Audoin.

The 2018 Gevrey-Chambertin Village mingles aromas of cherries and raspberries with nuances of rose petals and smoked meats. It's medium to full-bodied, velvety and charming, with a layered core of fruit framed by supple tannins.

Notes of peony, red fruits, rose petals and spices introduce the 2017 Gevrey-Chambertin Village, a medium to full-bodied, supple and satiny wine that's charming and open-knit, with a vibrant core of fruit.

The Gevrey-Chambertin has a light bilberry and mineral-scented bouquet that offers a slight leafiness. The palate is very natural and well-defined, although I was looking for a little more complexity and weight towards the tensile finish. Fine, but could be a little better. Tasted March 2013.
