Exhibiting scents of crisp green apple, pear, orange zest, bee pollen, nutmeg and pastry cream, Audoin's 2020 Marsannay Au Champ Salomon Blanc is medium to full-bodied, satiny and pure, with a concentrated core of fruit, tangy acids and a long, penetrating finish.

Unfurling in the glass with scents of sweet orchard fruit, white flowers and almond paste, the 2019 Marsannay Au Champ Salomon Blanc is medium to full-bodied, bright and chalky, with the most tightly wound, mineral and incisive profile of Audoin's white Marsannay cuvées this year. As usual, it's my favorite of the range.

Audoin's finest white this year is the 2018 Marsannay Au Champ Salomon Blanc, a striking wine that wafts from the glass with notes of citrus oil, fresh pastry, confit lemon and crisp orchard fruit. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, broad and muscular, with a racy spine of acidity, chalky structuring extract and a saline finish.

Layered and dramatic, the 2017 Marsannay Au Champ Salomon Blanc wafts from the glass with aromas of green orchard fruit, fresh bread and a touch of smoke. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, satiny and textural, with a generous core of fruit, succulent balancing acids and a long, saline finish. It will likely tense up with additional élevage, and it's marginally the finest of an excellent range of whites in the cellar this year.
