The 2001 St.-Peray reveals copious quantities of white currants, a hint of citrus, medium body, and a monolithic but straightforward, pleasant character. Made primarily from Marsanne, it has weight, but not a great deal of finesse or complexity. The 2001 white wines possess good aromatics, medium body, and zesty, refreshing acidity. They are not big, voluminous examples (as some 2000s can be), but are delicious whites destined to be drunk early in life.Importer: Maison Marques et Domaines, Oakland, CA; tel. (510) 587-2000
