A vino frizzante secco, the 2017 Lambrusco di Sorbara Vecchia Modena Premium is a ruby colored expression with a compact and steely presentation of wild cherry, blueberry and raspberry aromas. The grape used here is Lambrusco di Sorbara (one of the two main types of Lambrusco along with Lambrusco Grasparossa). You get more primary simplicity here, and the medicinal or balsamic background notes that you find in some of the other wines of the region are downplayed in this hot vintage. Some 80,000 bottles were made.
