The cloudy amber 2020 Colección Origen Carro de la Mata was produced with grapes from a single plot of vines called El Carro, the one at higher altitude and with older vines that produce a more elegant wine. It also has a savory twist, reminiscent of chicken broth, and a salty twist in the finish. It has 12.5% alcohol and very good freshness, pungent with clean and focused flavors and a long finish. This is a mini-orange wine macerated with the skins for some 30 days, but the wine feels quite elegant and subtle when compared to other orange wines. It matured in tinaja under flor yeasts for five months. Delicious! 3,000 bottles were filled in March 2021.

Inspired in the Carro from Rafa Bernabé, the new 2018 Colección Origen Carro de la Mata is part of a range (Colección Origen) produced in clay amphorae from Padilla—wines produced like they were produced hundreds of years ago. It has an earthy nose intermixed with Moscatel aromas, a golden color and plenty of character, showing the wild side of the vineyards of the Parque Natural de La Mata, where the grapes grow. It follows the line of the wine from Bernabé, more about the soil even when the variety is as strong as Moscatel. It finishes long and dry, with very tasty, pungent flavors. The price had not yet been set. 3,000 bottles produced and filled in February 2019.
