Cornin opted to bottle his 2020 Pouilly-Fuissé Les Chevrières without filtration, but the resulting wine is a touch turbid. Offering up aromas of white flowers, pear, citrus oil and fresh mint, it's medium to full-bodied, layered and concentrated, with tangy acids and chalky structure, but it sacrifices a bit of precision due to its turbidity. That's a pity because the raw materials are more than compelling.

Another cuvée that will see 24 months élevage this year, the 2019 Pouilly-Fuissé Les Chevrières mingles nots of peach and orange with hints of white flowers and fresh bread. Medium to full-bodied, layered and concentrated, it's lively and seamless, with lovely balance.

Aromas of fresh peach, confit lemon and fresh bread introduce the 2018 Pouilly-Fuissé Les Chevrières, a medium to full-bodied, bright and lively wine that's racy and incisive despite the balmy vintage, with fine depth at the core and a long, penetrating finish. This cuvée will be especially interesting to follow with a bit of bottle age.

The 2017 Pouilly-Fuissé Les Chevrières is superb, unfurling in the glass with aromas of crisp yellow apples, mandarin, pastry cream and frangipane. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, elegantly textural and incisive, with racy acids, impressive reserves of structuring dry extract and a long, precise finish. The most tensile and tight-knit of Cornin's 2017s, this is beautifully balanced and built for the cellar—though impatient readers will find plenty of immediate gratification if they pull corks now too.

The 2016 Pouilly-Fuissé Les Chevrières was hit by hail and yielded only 30 hectoliters per hectare, and that shows in its ripe, sun-kissed bouquet of grand mariner, dried flowers, yellow apples and calvados. On the palate, it's full-bodied, rich and massively concentrated, with a glossy, textural attack and a lingering finish. Dramatic and powerful, admirers of richer white Burgundies will find much to enjoy in the immediate future, but I suspect it isn't balanced for the long-haul.
