The 1990 Barolo Cerequio Secolo is a re-release directly from the estate. Still deeply-colored, the wine reveals remarkable depth and concentration in its fruit, along with tertiary notes of earthiness, leather, tobacco and smoke. This dark, brooding Barolo is a delicious wine to enjoy now and over the next two years, but I wouldn’t hold it too long, as the structural elements will eventually overwhelm the fruit.
