A blend of mostly Nero d'Avola (85%) with some Nerello Cappuccio in a supporting role, the 2016 Cariddi is immediately recognized by its all-Sicilian personality. The Nero d'Avola leaves the strongest imprint with aromas of sour cherry, green olive and wild fennel. The Nerello Cappuccio serves to add linearity and backbone. Some 300,000 bottles were made.

A Terre Siciliane IGT blend of 85% Nero d'Avola and 15% Nerello Mascalese, the 2014 Cariddi is Cantine Colosi's entry level red. The bouquet opens to slightly rustic tones of dark fruit with black olive and caper at the back. It presents pretty red fruit with simple lines and an attractive level of concentration that never feels heavy. Served slightly chilled, it could work as a pairing partner to grilled tuna steaks. Cariddi offers terrific value. Some 200,000 bottles are made.

The 2013 Cariddi is a blend of 80% Nero d'Avola and 20% Nerello Mascalese. This is a very affordable value option that offers a dark, thick appearance and mild aromas of dark cherry and dried blackberry. This easydrinking red is aged in botte grande.
