With well-placed vineyards planted on the sparse limestone terroirs of the Causse, Chambert was one of the leaders of the appellation in the early 1980s. It fell into a bit of a rut after that time, but with the arrival of Stephane Derenoncourt and his team, Chambert is once again a bench?mark in the region! The holdings are vast (nearly 150 acres) and homogeneous. The prestige bottling Orphee was excellent in 2005, but with the 2006 they have changed the style, aiming at more refined texture and tannins.
