The tightly-knit, rich, ripe, potentially complex 1998 Chardonnay possesses good weight and underlying acidity, but it has yet to reveal much complexity or nuances. It offers ripe, honeysuckle, pear-like fruit along with a touch of oak and intriguing floral scents, but it requires another 6-12 months of bottle age. It should drink well for 3-4 years.
