The 2001 Curium (100% Tempranillo) was barrel fermented and aged for 22 months in new and one-year-old French oak. A superb perfume of jammy black fruits, graphite, and spice box is followed by a wine with layers of flavor including black fruits, chocolate, and licorice, excellent concentration, and nicely integrated wood, tannin, and acidity. There is ample structure for further bottle aging. It should have a 15-20 year lifespan.
