The 2009 Torre de Golban comes from 40- to 60-year-old vines and aged for 12 months in 25% new French oak. It is missing some personality on the nose: the small dark cherry fruit present and correct, but lacking some “animation”. The palate is excessively ripe, the fruit rather cloying and saccharine toward the finish. Drink now. Importer: Aviva Vino, New York, NY; tel. (212) 244-4495
