The 2021 Mantra Cabernet Sauvignon is sweetly aromatic, with strawberry pie, red licorice, fresh bay leaves and brine. The palate is fresh and attractive but not intensely weighted—this is likely due to the vintage conditions of 2021: cooler (without being cold) and quite wet throughout the growing and harvest season. It has a nice core of raspberry fruit from the Wilyabrup Cabernet. There are notes of coffee grounds, black olive brine, cassis, clove and a hint of cocoa. It has graphite tannins and is very pretty. This tastes like Margaret River Cabernet (a great thing). It matured in seasoned French oak for 17 months. 13.6% alcohol, sealed under screw cap.
