The 2011 Ilerca Vonia is a pure Garnacha Blanca from 60-year-old vines that sees no oak aging. It has a simple, primal nose of grapefruit, pine needles and white fennel that takes time to calm down in the glass. The palate has a soft, waxy, resinous entry with touches of dried honey and dried apricot. Though the finish is a little muffled, it demonstrates acceptable persistency and varietal character for the price. Drink now.
