The ripe 2015 Crianza has notes of black fruit intermixed with spices and a palate with plenty of dusty tannins. It's quite tasty. 16,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in July 2017.

The fresh 2014 Crianza was my favorite in the line up here. It is pure Tempranillo with a commercial profile, generously oaked but not excessive, matured in oak for 14 months. The palate has abundant tannins, sweet fruit and plenty of oak-related flavors. 40,000 bottles produced.

The 2011 Crianza is pure Tempranillo from a warm and ripe vintage matured in oak for 14 months. It has a nose of ripe and a little jammy fruit, compote and cereals, a bit blurry overall. The palate has sweet fruit, acidity to be integrated and feels a little hollow in the middle. 20,000 bottles produced.

The 2010 Acon Crianza is pure Tempranillo from 20-year-old vineyards with a minty profile, perhaps from a percentage of American barrels. It’s pure Tempranillo, ripe, balsamic, with notes of chocolate and a medium-bodied palate where the wine is juicy and has fine tannins, with moderate acidity. A good crianza. Drink now-2017. Abadia de Acon is a winery created in 2003 by a family linked to viticulture for various generations close to Aranda de Duero. There is a tertiary aspect on the nose of the 2009 Acon Crianza, which comes from 20- to 25-year-old Tempranillo. The palate is balanced with a supple entry: juicy black cherry and soy-tinged fruit, although it is slightly pinched toward the finish. Drink now-2015. Located in Burgos, Abadia de Acon is one of the largest wineries in Castrillo de la Vega. It was Norberto Carrasco who installed the concrete vats back in 1953 when there were few wineries in the area compared to nowadays. His grandson Jose Antonio Carrasco presently runs the estate and oversees what I consider to be a well-priced, commendable portfolio of wines under the Acon brand.
