The 1966 is a top-notch effort from Lascombes. This wine is better than the 1970, certainly more complete and charming than the 1975, and has proven longer lived than either the 1982 or 1983 will be--I think. It is dark ruby with an amber edge, possessing very good richness and length to go along with its voluptuous, seductive bouquet. It has been fully mature for over a decade, but continues to exhibit high class. It is one of my favorite 1966s. Anticipated maturity: Now. Last tasted, 3/89.
