The 2013 Pinot Noir Orchard Block was barrel aged in French oak for 17 months (38% new wood). It has a ripe red cherry and cranberry-scented bouquet that is well defined, not as powerful as the 2012 last year, yet retaining commendable delineation and varietal expression. The palate is smooth on the entry, a very sensual Pinot Noir, almost lush in terms of texture with Morello cherry, crushed strawberry and red plum notes. But it's the silkiness of this Pinot Noir that wins you over - just delicious.
