The 2015 Savigny les Beaune Clos des Godeaux offers up a spicy nose, notes of coniferous forest floor mingling with suggestions of red berries and game bird, framed by light reduction. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied, bright and succulent, with fine chalky tannins and zesty acids, but without the reserve of depth, concentration and incipient complexity that Drouhin's best communal appellation bottlings offer in this vintage.
