Composed of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc, the 2018 Briand is deep garnet-purple colored and gives up slightly mute blackberry and black raspberry notes with hints of bay leaves, damp soil and Marmite toast. Medium-bodied and delicately played, the palate has just enough juicy fruit and soft tannins with a refreshing finish.
