Tasted blind in a line-up of 2011 Amoureuses in Holland, this 2011 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Amoureuses is very clean and pure in color. The nose is sensual and pure with luscious redcurrant, red cherry and fresh strawberry aromas that blossom in the glass, yet they retain the essence of refinement. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, very well judged acidity and focus. This is perhaps the most harmonious of the Amoureuses with great tension. It does not possess the persistency of a great vintage, but there is real breeding here. Tasted June 2014.
