The 2002 Chassagne-Montrachet La Grande Borne, harvested at 16 hectoliters per hectare (needless to say, Vincent Dancer is a huge fan of Mme. Leroy’s work and wines), displays plummy, toasty black cherry fruit aromas. Produced from 18 year-old vines, this wine exhibits lovely intensity, depth, and length. Blackberries, minerals, and dark cherries can be detected in its structured character. Anticipated maturity: 2006-2011.
