The 2007 Excelsus is a blend of 60% Tempranillo and 40% Garnacha aged in 50% new oak. Made in a more contemporary style, it gives up an expressive nose of Asian spices, black cherry, violets, and blackberry. Sweetly-fruited, concentrated, and lengthy, it will drink well over the next 5-7 years. Vina Herminia’s new releases contain several excellent values.Importer: Christopher Cannan, Europvin; www.europvin.com
