A killer wine, the sensational 1997 The Ironstone Pressings (70% Grenache, 20% Shiraz, and 10% Mourvedre) boasts an opaque purple color in addition to a spectacular black raspberry, kirsch, and licorice-scented nose, gorgeously full-bodied, super-concentrated flavors with nicely integrated, toasty oak, and fine acidity. Full-bodied, with high alcohol (15%), this is a blockbuster, New World, Rhone look-alike that can be drunk now or cellared for 10-15 years.
