The 2013 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Charmes seemed more closed, broodier on the nose, compared to the other 2013s from Lalou at the moment. The palate is medium-bodied, fleshy and tender in the mouth, the red fruit moving to black toward the finish furnished with white pepper, rosemary and spice. Quite a mercurial Chambolle, I would afford this at least five or six years in bottle.
