A fifth red wine is made at Rayas that is basically an assemblage of all the discarded lots. Called Pialade, the 2001 is a nice bistro-styled red that I rated in the low eighties. It is best drunk during its first several years of life.
Like most Chateauneuf du Pape domaines, I did not see anything while tasting through the 2002 reds that would suggest they could be recommended in this publication.
