The 2007 Syrah Ampelos Vineyard offers abundant amounts of black fruits intermixed with notions of roasted herbs, bouquet garni, and charcoal. Also ripe and full-bodied, but not as complex as the Verna’s, it is a backward, tannic effort that will benefit from 1-2 years of cellaring, and will keep for a decade.
