With only 1,333 bottles released, the Fontanavecchia 2017 Falanghina del Sannio Taburno Libero is made with late-harvest fruit, and 10% of the total is fermented in French barrique. The wine opens to a light golden hue with flinty aromas and a hint of struck match that lifts quickly. The bouquet then veers toward candied lemon, honey, saffron and crushed stone. The wine's mid-weight finish moves along thanks to the 14% alcohol content.
