This low-yield (1.33 tons/acre average) mix of clones and vineyards, from Red Hills, WillaKenzie and Jory soils, yields a more textural wine with subtle layers of flavor. As with the winery’s other releases, it enters the palate quite softly and leaves rather quickly, giving the impression that (especially noting the 13.8% alcohol) some manipulative technology has been used. Some details of herb, tobacco leaf and citrus do add interesting detail to the blackberry fruit.——P.G.(11/15/2007)—— 89
