The 2006 Goliardo Espadeiro is 100% Espadeiro sourced from 40-year-old vines. A glass-staining opaque purple color, it has an alluring nose of damp earth, mineral, blackberry, and blueberry. On the palate it shows off an elegant personality, racy fruit, elevated acidity, and an austerity designed to appeal more to the intellect than the senses. It will offer considerable food for thought (if not pleasure) over the next five years. The Forja del Salnes wines are made in a small garage by Raul Perez.
