Ramonet turned in a strong performance in this vintage, the year of the great Pierre Ramonet's death, and the 1994 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Chaumées continues to drink well, offering up rich aromas of buttered orchard fruit, pastry cream, confit citrus and spices, followed by a medium to full-bodied, broad and fleshy palate. It's fully mature, and there's no reason to wait to open bottles, given the open-knit style of the 1994s.
