The 1999 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva shows game and smoked meat, backed by dark color and concentration. Those smoky aromas are followed by crushed stone, ash, tobacco, hummus and road paving. The palate is medium in density and delivers a delightful firmness at the back that renders a good feeling of structure and endurance. Drink: 2014-2022.

Very pretty with cherries, blackberries and hints of vanilla. Full-bodied, with fine tannins and a vanilla and berry aftertaste. Excellent. Long and refined. Better than previously reviewed.
