The 2009 Petite Sirah Royal Punishers is a dark, juicy wine bursting with character and personality. Blackberry jam, grilled herbs, smoke and licorice are some of the notes that flow from this extroverted Petite Sirah. Sweet floral notes add lift on the finish. The tannins remain a touch firm, so another year or two in bottle can only help, but if opened in advance the wine is delicious already. Anticipated maturity: 2013-2021.
