Tenuta Belguardo’s 2006 Serrata (80% Sangiovese, 20% Alicante) is an excellent, value-priced introduction to the wines of this property, owned by the Mazzei family from Tuscany. This plump, juicy wine bursts from the glass with plenty of dark red fruit, herbs and spices. Ideally, it is best enjoyed on the young side. Anticipated maturity: 2009-2012.
