The 2004 Serrata (65% Sangiovese, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Merlot) is a more powerful and expressive in its suggestions of tobacco, earthiness, licorice and dark cherry fruit though it too comes across as somewhat heavy-handed especially in its oak treatment and slightly astringent tannins.
