The 2003 Montefalco Sagrantino presents a wilder, gamier side of Sagrantino in its big, burly personality. Dark fruit, tar, earthiness and game dominate the flavor profile of this intense, palate-staining wine. Anticipated maturity: 2008-2018.
The Pardi family has been making wine since 1919, but only began estate-bottling with the 2003 vintage. These are richly-textured, modern-styled wines of notable class. Pardi will be an estate to keep a close eye on as the wines show a lot of potential.
