The 2007 Section 94 Sauvignon Blanc was matured for 18 months in old French oak barrels, this has a striking nose of white flowers, apple-blossom, green lemon, asparagus and a touch of pear. The palate is supremely well balanced, touches of gooseberry and lime giving way to lemon and orange zest towards the finish. Good length and persistency. Excellent. James Healy and Ivan Sutherland continue to produce some wonderful Sauvignon Blanc from Marlborough, their flagship Section 94 seeming to appear on just about every wine-list of any self-respecting restaurant in New Zealand. Ivan opened vintages that I did not taste on my previous trip to Marlborough as well as recent releases.Importer: Ex Cellars Wine Agencies, tel. (617) 876-5105 (MA) or (805) 686-9153 (CA)
