The 2014 Romanee St Vivant les Quatre Journaux Grand Cru has a clean and quite pure red cherry, wild strawberry and dried orange peel scented bouquet that will clearly need a couple more years to fully get into its stride. The palate is medium-bodied with quite bold, rounded tannin. There is good weight in the mouth, but where it stumbles is (yet again) towards the finish that comes across as one-dimensional and lacking the sophistication you seek in a Grand Cru, especially one at this price.
