Fruit for this wine comes from the Roero area of Piedmont. The 2013 Barbera d'Alba Ruvei offers a clean level of freshness with easygoing fruit appeal. Dark cherries and blackberries rise to the top, leaving a clean and relatively uncomplicated taste profile. This slightly cooler vintage has produced a tart and crisp red wine to pair with wood oven pizza or flatbread.

Integrated, with vivid acidity supporting the blackberry and boysenberry fruit, accented by earth, leather and spice notes. Firms up, but remains ideal with tomato-based sauces and cured meats.
