While good, the 1998 Cote Rotie Les Jumelles*, which winemaker Jacques Jaboulet calls "completely Burgundian," is problematic because it was bottled at two different times. I rated the first bottling 87, but the second bottling was far more herbaceous and dried out. When the Jaboulets complete the new huge, underground cellar they are constructing in a nearby cliffside, they need to seriously consider doing only one bottling in order to guarantee uniformity.
