The tightt, backward 2003 Pinot Noir 9 Barrel spent 14 months in French oak versus 10 months for its siblings. With a dark ruby color, significant structure, tannin, weight, and flesh, its dominant flavor characteristic is spicy black cherries dripping with oak. Not as seductive as the Los Carneros bottling, with more weight and depth, it will benefit from another year of bottle age, and drink well for 4-5 years.Tel. (800) 314-1762; Fax (707) 571-1448
