The 2005 Montepulciano d’Abruzzo Spelt offers up dried cherries, tar, licorice, flowers and spices in a relatively forward, delicate style for this bottling. Subtle notes of earthiness add complexity on the finish. Ideally the 2005 is best enjoyed sooner rather than later. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2015.
