Medium-to-dark ruby-colored, the Echezeaux's aromatics define the word finesse: violets, roses and small berries. This unfiltered and unfined wine displays powerful and roasted, fat, dark cherries and a touch of cassis. Rather bulky for its appellation (Echezeaux offerings can be over-cropped and thus weak and watery), this medium-to-full bodied wine should be aged for 5 years. It will last for another 7 years. This note is the result of tastings I did in Burgundy between January 7 and January 29.
