The three Shiraz cuvees include the dense ruby/purple-tinged 2002 Shiraz. Distinctive white chocolate scents intermixed with blackberry and cassis emerge from this deep, full-bodied, intense, rich Shiraz. The 2002 Shiraz, Grenache, Mourvedre (48%, 35%, and 17% respectively) tastes similar to a New World Cotes du Rhone. Somewhat lean and tart, but pleasant, it offers up notes of dusty red cherries intermixed with herbs de Provence and pepper. It needs to be consumed over the next 12-18 months.
